Another complaint about BDO

October 4, 2009 at 10:20 am 77 comments

Regular readers of Pinay and Money know my worst experience with a BDO manager. Recently, a friend posted a very frustrating experience with BDO. My friend gave me permission to repost this in Pinay and Money.

BDO sucks big time

Why?

Just a couple of days ago, a close friend made a cash advance on her BDO credit card. The ATM did not dispense any money even if it was online and it was just newly “fed” with bills. Yet, the money was deducted from her account. Sweet, ain’t it?

So, she made the necessary calls to the ever-so-nice and efficient (yes, I am being sarcastic) people at BDO. The first person my friend was able to talk to told her that it would take 7-10 banking days to get her money back and that she would just have to wait because it was “the process.” My friend obviously got pissed so she asked to talk to the supervisor, hoping for a better answer other than “because it is the process.”

The girl made my friend wait for a god 15 minutes and never got back to her again. To even make things worse, when my friend followed-up the following day, she finds out that her report was not logged in by the girl she talked to. AND SHE WAS GIVEN WRONG INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROCESS. BDO employs really efficient call center agents, no?

Wait. It gets better.

Apparently it doesn’t take 7-10 days to get the money back. It takes 75 BANKING DAYS TO GET THE MONEY BACK. You read that right. 75 BANKING DAYS to get your money back. That’s a good two and half months. Considering the many holidays that are coming, it will take my friend up to 2010 just to get her money back. Wow. Quite a lot of time considering she doesn’t even get to charge interest from BDO for each day she has to wait.

Now where is the fairness in that? Credit card companies charge you exorbitant penalties if you pay a day late. AND YOU CAN’T EVEN CHARGE THEM FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS!!! Tell me, where is the fairness in that?! And their excuse is because: it’s the process. What sort of banking process requires 75 banking days to do, when it takes them no less than a day to call and pester you to pay up your credit card bills when you are a day late in paying? Really sucky process if you ask me.

And their tag line goes, we find ways.

I say BDO sucks big time.

Happened to a friend, too. Her money was not dispensed even if the receipt says so. Took her a long while to retrieve the money. This is the reason why I’m not getting an account with BDO ever. Thanks for sharing.

hi, teeyah! thanks for sharing your friend’s experience, too.

  • 5. pinayandmoney  |  October 24, 2009 at 3:21 pm

@marsheemarsh, BDO has its own pros. i myself maintaiins a checking account with them but i guess fairview branch is one of the few BDOs who provide decent service.

@akel, you’re right. it’s a long wait. and i wonder, while they’re waiting for the money to be returned, will they be charged with an interest?

  • 6. getsnits  |  November 9, 2009 at 3:43 am

i once had a savings account with bdo and only maintained it for 9 months because
    1) the tellers in the branch where i opened my account were very masungit
    2) when you make transactions via any bdo branch there is always a very long line and very slow service probably made worse by some tellers exchanging stories while processing transactions
    3) i experienced the same story above when i made a withdrawal from an atm machine
    4) my mom who always goes to their bank to pay her credit card bills wears only pambahay, a lot of times get snubbed by the tellers and almost always assists someone who is better dressed
    SHEESH!!

  • 7. jen  |  November 24, 2009 at 4:36 am

ay oo talagang masungit.my husband wants me to send a report…or complain with the staff of bdo t.alonzo branch sta.cruz. seafoods dealer kami and shempre malapit sila sa palengke and mabaho yun ayaw nila iassist is hubby….wala kami account sa branch na yan.just that kelangan namin magbayad ng fare sa cebu pacific. No choice…

Deadma daw talaga.

  • 8. pinayandmoney  |  November 29, 2009 at 12:11 am

@jen, that’s so sad to hear. banks should teach their employees to respect customers regardless of how they dress or look. everyone is a customer and customers should be given good service.

  • 9. Santa  |  December 12, 2009 at 8:49 am

It’s really frustrating! Last Dec 20, 2010, I tried to withdraw from a BDO atm machine in Las PInas using my BDO cash card. Sadly, no cash was dispensed. I complained to the BDO bank employee and she just gave the their call center complaint number to call. I have been calling but the same reply “still under investigation.” I don’t think it would be that difficult to do that if BDO is really working on it. It’s more than a month and nothing is happening!

  • 11. pinayandmoney  |  January 25, 2010 at 7:31 am

ghie, i think for BDO it takes 15 working days before they return the money to you. that’s what happened to my husband when the ATM didn’t dispense the money.

  • 12. Det  |  March 2, 2010 at 3:05 am

We are a tenant at an SM mall here in Batangas, so sadly we are required to open an account with BDO. Kundi lang dahil doon, I am not going to open an account with them. I prefer BPI. Why? No bank charges at mas madali katransact compared to BDO. Although I am not pertaining to ALL employees. I even saw the manager at the branch that i have an account with, several times na kasi ako lagi nagdedeposit ng benta namin. Never smiles, not even once.
Transfer na kayo to BPI :)

  • 13. jn  |  April 14, 2010 at 5:05 am

to all the bdo complaints in this forum…….definitely true and confirmed……

at the moment we’re also experiencing a lot of problems on our bdo account……

the best suggestion would be closing the bdo account and campaign in any way the unprofessional and unethical manners of their service to the customer……

  • 14. Mj  |  April 28, 2010 at 5:58 am

Another victim here! here’s the story..

i tried to open up a new account in BDO in taytay Rizal this last march 23, after a week, march 29, released na. but they told me its a bit of 24 hrs process para maactive un card! then the following day, i made a transaction in PNB for about 2k, more or less meron pa akong 18K na natitira.. last night i wen to PNB again! just to check my money.. i was really shock, its almost “729.00″ pesos nalang ang pera!! What the hell is going on!!,

I went to the nearest BDO just to complain about what happened to my personal savings!! binigyan nila ako ng Statement of account na may mga transaction nangyare within
april 21-23 na ginamit “daw” ung ATM ko with my personal pin and they were keep asking me ” baka ikaw din un sir” WTF! hindi ako magaaksaya ng panahon para magpunta dito kung ako din may gawa nian.. its my personal account! and the point is! its not the money! its the credibility of your management thru security of your clients..

so meaning to say ginamit ung BDO atm ko at alam ung pin ko! during that day! nasa office ako nagwowork hindi ko alam meron napalang nangyayare na ganun! yan ung hindi nila mai explain sakin pano nangyare yan eh ako lang naman ang nakaka alam ng pin ko! kase personal pin mo iyon at nasakin ang ATM ko.. pano nangyare un? is it possible na clone ung card ko? i guess its an Inside Job!

nagfile ako ng report and email pero walang response sakin ang callcenter@bdo.ph na email na yan walang kwenta ung support nila.. until now hindi ko alam pano mababawi ung nawalang pera ng ganun ganun nalang!!

  • 15. tommy  |  May 1, 2010 at 12:47 pm

It happen to me several times at lagi na lang akong nagtataas ng boses sa kanila and it happen again just today. I was at BDO Sta. Lucia branch to pay also my fare for cebu pacific and i was just wearing my pambahay. The guard at the entrance stop me because i was wearing a cap. The guard ask me to remove my cap prior to my entry para daw sa cctv nila. I remove and look at their cctv at pagkatapos sinuot ko na uli yun cap ko coz I look funny without it, magulo kasi buhok ko. After kong pumila sa mahaba nila laging pila ilan beses akong binalikan ng guard nila and asking na tanggalin ko yun cap ko na parang ang dating eh criminal ako. Uminit na ang ulo ko and asking kung kaninong guidelines yan at bawal ba talaga na may suot ka na cap and telling them na baka sa sususnod pati naka slippers bawal na din sa inyo. I ask a copy nung memo nila at nakita ko na wala naman nakalagay dun na the customer are reallly oblige to remove their cap or head gear and they will not allow an entry kung ayaw nya alisin.

This thing also happens to my wife din pala several times especially pag hindi siya nakabihis ng maayos.

@jen, kagaya mo I have also my own business at malaki pa kinikita ko sa mga manager nila.

  • 19. Elvin  |  May 19, 2010 at 5:26 am

It looks BDO employees were trained not to smile. I think they are not customer focus. In BDO Paseo De Roxas Equitable Tower, grabe. nagsimula ang pila na dalawa kaming naka-pila. Humaba ng humaba ang pila. Tapos nag-kwekwentuhan pa. yung iba nman nasa harapan ng teller yung iba me gina-ginawa yung iba nagtetext lng. D b bawal mag-text inside the bank. tapos teller p text ng text habang me customer sa harap nya. Tama b nman yun?
Hay…

  • 20. Cris  |  June 2, 2010 at 7:45 am

Darn it!.. I have the same complaint..I withdrew P5700 last Saturday(May 29) from a BDO machine..and yes..Lucky me.. The machine ejected my card but without my money.. I called that fucking 6318000 number they had printed in their ATMs.. and no wonder the reply was “We will follow you up, this might take 5 banking days”..

After that I did two more follow ups..and sadly..the most frustrating part is the way their customer service rep talked to me.. Its as if they were telling me it was all my fault..when we all know that it is their machine that has malfunctioned..That’s how frustrating it is..

And until now, I haven’t gotten my money yet..:(

  • 21. cm  |  June 4, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I also have complains in bdo service..Last sat too (may 29) nag withdraw ako sa atm machine nila located sa robinsons ermita, ground floor..Unfortunately my atm was captured..Nag ask ako sa nearest bdo bank, which is located outside lang ng robinsons ermita, beside national bookstore, and they told me to call the hotline 6318000, since hinde daw nila handle yun atm machine na nasa loob ng mall. I called the hotline, talked to the agent and make a report..Sabe nila, wait daw ako ng 3 to 5 banking days to get my atm card.. nag follow up ako, by mon, thursday..the agent told me na wait pa ng 5 days..At ngayon friday nga (june 4) tumawag ulet ako, and they told me wala pa ding feedback. At ask ko lang yun isang agent was asking for my address and birthday, kasama ba yun pag nag complain ka, kung na capture yun card? e diba yun customer ang mag cla claim ng atm card, at hinde ihahahatid sa house yun..samantalang nung nag fofollow up ako at nag report, they never ask me for the address…lam ko contact number lang dapat.

  • 23. reallypissedoffwithbdo!!!  |  June 16, 2010 at 8:53 am

i so agree with the post of several people here that the staff of bdo are all very discriminating, they match the service they provide with the quality of clothes you wear and probably the money you entrusted to them.

i already have several lousy experiences from this bank but i chose to let it go, but this recent issue i had with them about a cash card i opened ticked me off. i have three accounts with them plus a cash card. and soon i will be closing all of them. i will tell you guys the details soon, including the branch name, and the names of the people involved.

to those who have an account better close them before you go through the same ordeal we had with their employees and to those who intend to open any type of account with them please spare yourselves the torment of dealing with heartless and greedy people of this company.

big shame on bdo employees for treating small people with great contempt!!! dont they know where mr sy, the owner of the bank came from? they must be very careful with dealing with their customers they never know who will make it big someday. and who can make and break them. just like what happened to mr sy, a nobody just like each one of us, but now a big name in this country.

for the people at bdo hope all of you give attention to all these complaints because you can never tell how great damage these can cause your company! leave up to what you are saying that you find ways. make sure that you really find ways for your customers. mind you the money you are getting every payday is coming from our money that we entrusted to your bank, the money you get from the loans of people are all from us your bankers. so be very careful in dealing with all your customers be it big or small. dahil sabi nga ng nanay ko ang isang milyon di mabubuo kung walang isang centimo. so every penny we entrust to you counts keep that in mind you rude people!!!

  • 24. Leah  |  June 17, 2010 at 2:25 pm

@ reallypissedoffwithbdo!!! – can I have your comments re-posted? If okey with you lang. Cos I think we can reach out to them more by re-posting your feedback. Just a suggestion lang po.

  • 25. cecile  |  July 23, 2010 at 12:13 am

Gosh… ako gus2 k mg close account n sa bdo, dti kc akala k okay cla ksi pg week end open cla sa mall, so okay un, ksi pg weekdays my work, pro totoo tlaga ang bbastos nla and they r only polite if they think your are professional pero pg tingin nla hindi, gudluck nlang..
My brother has no billing ever since but he is paying din nman un nga lng eh di nmin alam kng saan n ccharge, bka pro interest and charges lang, e2 p ang worse, they kept calling my aunt house and talked to my aunt, they say, they would forward it to legal department, if he cannot pay, eh ung utang lng nman 9k, pos nging 17k dhil sa interest and charges, and my aunt does not know anything about credit card, the customer service implying that if my brother cannot pay, they would sue and the customer service is really rude. Lucky for me that I have terminated my credit card with them. Sakit lng cla sa ulo.

  • 26. sha  |  August 13, 2010 at 7:06 am

Another bad experience from BDO just today. I came to BDO to get my sister’s remittance. And then their staff says I can’t get the money because I gave the wrong sender’s name. But the receiver is correct and the reference # as well. And the way she says it was very rude. And then she went on the next to cust.even w/o explaining to me what to do next. And what is more frustrating is the cust.next to me was a foreigner, the way she treats that cust. was different, she’s even flirting with him. Mga Pinoy na racist. Sana may gawin sila dito.

  • 30. klyielei  |  November 19, 2010 at 1:08 pm

worst bank talaga ang BDO!! I had 3 accounts with them before. 2 savings and one dollar account. when my dad was comatose and eventually died last 2006 my sis from australia send money in my dollar account amounted to 5,000.00 dollars. when i was about to withdraw my money they told me that it was on hold for 14 days as bank policy daw. i told them i needed that money for my dad medical bills since hes in ICU ayaw nila. sabi ko hindi naman ako terorista at pera ko naman iyan bakit ayaw ninyo ibigay. i file a complaint in central bank abt BDO then i finally got my money i withdraw all my dollar account for good. super bagal at poor service sila. Henry Sy teach your employees to be humble and courteous at wag gamitin ang dollar na hindi sa inyo!!!!

  • 31. Mai  |  November 20, 2010 at 12:57 pm

  • 32. Henry  |  November 22, 2010 at 1:36 pm

Blew my top again today because of the myopic
bureaucracies of BDO which I call B-ID-O. Yup,
Anything you want to do with the bank, they keep
asking mechanically two IDs needed. I can understand
opening a new account requires IDs (2 ID’s being excessive
even) but when you already have an account and only
updating a signature or buying gift checks and you are
asked for 2 ID’s that is just inane if not insane. When paying
BDO credit card bills in Cash, they ask for your phone number
when you are already paying in Cash. Interestingly enough
the Bayad Centers of SM do not ask for your phone number
when you pay these same bills in Cash.
It only smacks of
management not knowing what banking is or what their business ia all about. Their SM jingo like motto of “We find
ways” only adds insult to injury. I am sure all the complaints posted are true. Hindi naman sila nakikinig sa customers or clients of the bank.

  • 33. Angeles Wrong PIN Daw  |  December 16, 2010 at 1:54 pm

This happened to me awhile ago, nag enter ako ng pin ko 100% sure na correct but it throws out an error message saying that i entered a wrong PIN. Googling the issue may nakita akong same case din, and same date. DEC 16 2010. Pa verify kung meron kayong same issue. TY

I will never recommend opening an account with BDO. BDO really sucks!!!!!

  • 35. pobre  |  December 29, 2010 at 9:15 am

  • 36. lyn  |  January 11, 2011 at 12:41 pm

WAY to fix their system here in balanga bataan.

  • 37. John Doe  |  February 17, 2011 at 10:12 pm

My Bdo branch was closed and our accounts was “forced” to transfer to their bdo I.T Park Branch in Cebu due to the fact the manager there is a favorite of the higher up. We weren’t given the option to transfer to another branch thus being forced to transfer to that branch which gives poor service to it’s customer. /imagine to transfer to another account we had to furnish a letter why we want to transfer to another when in the first place that branch they transfered us was not the branch we chose in the first place. The bank manager of that i.t park branch had the audacity to even tell her higher up “protector” that we were closing our account /transferring to other branches and in turn getting the other branches in hot water. What is this practice they are doing? It’s martial law again on a banking system where we practice a democratic way of living . I thought BDO motto was ” we find ways ” .They really find ways to force you to bank with this manager coz she was the favorite of one of the higher ups. I urge anybody reading this to boycott banking with BDO branch in I.T Park Cebu namely branch manager “Lulay” who is stealing clients from other branches and is blatantly disregarding a democratice way of banking and is enforcing a nazi way of banking.

I withdrew 10k php on a BDO machine in alabang hills branch yesterday march 20 2011, i did not get the money and after several minutes of waiting the machine went to “out of service”. I called their hotline and they said that it will take a maximum of 5 banking days to process my complain and they need to investigate.

Same thing happened to me last weekend May 21, 2011 when I was in SM Megamall to buy a book for my daughter which she was eagerly wanting to have that day. It was in the middle of the afternoon and my kids were hungry so before going to Powerbooks I dropped by Banco de Oro, my issuing bank, at the upper ground floor in SM Megamall Bldg A to withdraw some few bucks for our snacks. But to my surprise, the ATM machine did not dispense the money and oddly the screen displayed a “Get Cash” message and it printed a transaction receipt showing a debit from my account– Is this a joke??? or is the machine dumb??? Immediately after, I went inside the bank and reported the incident but instead they advised me to call their call center hotline 631-8000 which I did and in response to my complaint, they gave me a reference number. The customer service representative who was attending my call told me that it will take 5 banking days for them to resolve the problem (something to do with investigation and balancing). Anyhow, during my inquiry with them, I discovered that they usually receive 1 to 2 incidents with the same type of problem per day, which I feel very alarming. Base on the number of incidents I found on the net (forums and blogs) having a situation of undispensed funds specifically with BDO ATM machines, it is already quite alarming. Where does all the undispensed cash goes to? if ever the funds are not credited back to the depositors account which is already prevalent base on the number of cases on this blog site. May it be small or large amount of money involved, bottom line is.. it’s a hard-earned money and the bank has no right to detain that money from us.
I am not rich, 2k pesos for me is more than significant and I will not let this die down without a fight.

At the end of the day, we went back home with an empty stomach… :(

How I’ve thought na, all hired employees of every bank are professionals, di pla. I walked in BDO bank Angeles branch, dated june 6, 2011, between 12pm-12:30pm as I am depositing on my atm accnt, two of its female staff harassed me in words and have told on a medium tone where I could clearly hear her say,”atsu ya ing makipagflirt kareng lalaki or something(nandito na ang nakikipag flirt sa mga guys)”.Am not actually a paranoid type of a person but have to clear and fight for my rights also. Knowing naman na tatlo lang kaming mga clients nila that day, one is an old guy standing, the other old woman sitting besides me and waiting for something and am the third client who’s only there. Just saw the eyes of the young staff looking at me when she harassed me in her words of lies. She doesn’t have any proof of telling me that knorr doesn’t know me at all. I am a mother and a conservative one, I have a beautiful marriage with a wonderful person and am a one man lover. I don’t go out without my family and am not interested in any night life stuff and wla kami parehong bisyong mag asawa. Ako lang ang medyo bata dun sa mga clients na present sa BDO angeles branch harap Carmelite church kya nakapa react ako ng d maganda because of their wrong attitudes of treating clients, parang nawala dun yung etiquette nila bilang mga professional workers/staff ng BDO bank.

Nagpasa ako ng address update form para sa BDO Emerald Rewards Card ko nun January and I was surprised 2 days ago na hindi updated. Kanina she seems to be irritated na nun nagrereklamo ako. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I am currently on hold on the phone with a supervisor “kuno” of bdo call center customer service. Last Monday, Aug 29, nag withdraw ako sa isang BDO atm machine dito sa paranaque, using my bdo atm payroll account and sa kasamaang palad na debit buong sahod ko. Very untimely dahil nasa ospital ang anak ko during that time. Right then and there I reported it to their call center. I was given a timeframe of 5 banking days. Unfortunately holiday pa un Monday and Tuesday. They are waiting for the feedback daw. Kaya lang there are medicines that u have to buy to ensure my daughter’s recovery. Yun ang problema ngaun. I called them back again last Friday, asked to talked to a supervisor. I explained my situation and the urgency of the need of money. After an hour on the phone, the supervisor told me na Monday pa daw maccredit. That’s my money. Pinaghirapan ko yun. And to think na hindi kasalanan ng customer kung busted ang machine. Now I called again dahil wala parin ang sweldo ko. This supervisor is telling me that they are still validating what happened. Nakakagalit! Kasi tagal ko na nga naghihintay and they are still checking. Dapat by this time, they are on the process of crediting back the money to my account. I’m still on hold now. I would want to file a complaint talaga against bdo. They have to know na degrading ang ginagawa nila sa mga pilipino. Pera natin to, sweldo natin kaya hindi nila dapat to pinapatagal.

im very pleased to have read all of your stories, i recently closed my savings account @BDO because of this crazy incident, my card was captured by their OWN machine for no reason, the screen just went “out of order” just like some of you have experienced, akala ko ako na ang pinakasawing member ng bdo, may malala pa pala saken, i asked them to give me another card and they said i need to pay for replacement, i said wtf! , wala pakong nagagawa sa machine nio tapos bigla lang nagout of order tapos ako pa may kasalanan??? ako pa magbabayad?? right then and there, i cancelled my bdo savings account, may gana pa silang icharge ako for going below my maintaining balance, this was the second time, the first time it happened was with my payroll card, na same incident lang din, i really wonder kung anong klaseng justice meron sa company na to, asan ang fairness? service is not supposed to be like this, para matigil na .. binayaran ko ang replacement card, i took their names, and took all the receipt.. guys.. lets all help each other para matigil na tong kalokohan ng bangko na to.. ang lakas pa ng loob magsabi na we find ways .. eh simpleng machine lang nila di pa nila magawan ng way na hindi magerror.. i’ve banked with bpi for 3years never ako nakaexperience ng ganon tapos sa kanila .. wala pang 1year old ung savings acct ko.. tapos ganon na .. i’ll open talks to our site leader about the incident if i get the chance.. we’ll try to go higher up the food chain.. kasi ung mga walang kwentang taga bdo, pag nakapambahay at simpleng member ka lang di ka nila aasikasuhin .. stupid! .. guys lets all help each other .. lets do something to end this stupidity.

I agree about the worst system of BDO! And SM in general! My client who is based abroad fedexed her documents to apply for loan and I submitted it to her local provincial branch because that’s her branch; and the branch mailed it to BDO main branch in makati and it got lost in the mail! They couldn’t find the documents sent from abroad; and if you do not pester them and follow up them every single day they won’t do a thing.

  • 59. rarefied_ruby  |  February 20, 2012 at 5:33 pm

I had the same ordeal with BDO last December. I had fraudulent ATM transactions from my account and lost 35thousand pesos. Their system showed that the amount was withdrawn from an Eastwest bank machine when I never lost my ATM card and no one knew about my pin code. After a month of investigation and daily follow ups, I got my money back but they asked me to sign an affidavit stating that they are not claiming any faults from the incident, I will never press charges against them, and that they are returning the money out of good will/liberality.

BDO indeed find ways..they find ways to annoy people and make them feel miserable! So big no, no to that bank!

Hay naku, just like everyone else, BDO has been giving me nightmares since Jan 2012. Since 1st week of Jan 2012 pa ako nagpo-process ng claim for the deposit and placement there of my uncle who died. My aunt is the only surviving sister and I am processing the claim on her behalf since she is sick and is in the US. BDO provided a checklist of requirements pero nakakatawa kasi aside from those listed — they keep on asking for other docs from me. Para saan pa kaya yung checklist if they’re not going to follow it? Everytime masa-submit ko yung panibagong doc na nire-require nila, they come up with another new one. Nakakapikon kasi paisa-isa sila ng requirement– to think na mga galing pa sa NSO at city hall yung mga yun which takes days to release , not to mention ang haba ng pila. Para lang kaming naglolokohan di ba? 3 weeks ago, I submitted another document that they required and was told by the marketing officer na mga 2 weeks ang processing nun then release na ng claim. I keep following up but to no avail. I just talked to the marketing officer and was tld naman to wait daw and that they do not have a date yet kung kelan mare-release. Pwede ba yun? Sabi ko I’m sure meron naman yang target date or schedule na sinusunod so please pakitanong and advise me. My aunt is due for another round of treatment and she is in deep debt — na hindi naman sana kailangan mangyari kung hindi lang nanloloko ang BDO. They really ‘find ways’ to put their clients thru hell and i-hold ang pera nila para magamit muna ng lecheng bank na yan pang-invest. Mga sakim! I hope they all rot in hell!!!

Branch Manager
BDO
(Jose Abad Santos)

SIr/Madam:

I am writing this letter of complaint in connection with how your staffs Rose treated me last 14th of June 2012.

I am presently working in Singapore and I flew back because my wife was about to give birth. After my wife gave birth, I needed money so I went to your branch.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think I was treated with your staffs very well and in fact I was so insulted on how they did my transaction. My wife is the one who has an account with BDO. I understand that there would be some procedures needed to verify things and you want your clients to be fully secured with everything with regards their money.

Like everyone does, she did two (2) or more signatures in her life. Unfortunately, she wasn’t sure which signature/s she did when she opened the account. When Rose verified it, she looked at me fiercely and her gestures toward me were so unpleasant which I don’t think I deserve as your client and what a front-line people should do. Afterwards, I just thought that I will come back and get back to the hospital and let my wife do her other signature which that time my wife was asleep and resting because I really needed the money for her medical needs. When I reached the branch, when I presented the withdrawal slip, I felt so insulted and melancholic because on how they did my transaction. As to verify things, she asked me to call my wife which that time was just had given birth few minutes ago and still felt very weak. I understand about the verifications she did because of the signature question for my wife. However, I got upset when she called again my wife to verify, yes she did call twice!!! How many times do you guys need to verify things over the phone? Do you really need to verify twice by calling twice? I don’t personally think she seized things up and understood the situation. Meanwhile they found out that the date was incorrect and they advised me to come back again when everything is correct. Luckily, I let my wife signed five (5) withdrawal slip. Is it about the way I look that time as well? Are you guys judging on how people look?! Is it because I was just on a simple shirt and walking shorts that I rushed myself and my wife to the hospital? In addition, I also didn’t appreciate they gestured that they were like laughing about me.

I just want nothing but my money on my wife’s account as I needed to buy her medical needs.

I think people in the front-line deal with people and not animals. I am one of the reasons why they have jobs and which goes for everyone. I think treating people better and the right way especially clients are such a vital responsibility for everyone running a business. I don’t think they are properly educated in customer service and she doesn’t deserve her job.

I hope that this matter will be directed promptly and I’m looking forward for an acknowledgement from your company.

correct!!!

This is not something new!!! BDO really sucks. They do not log their calls or make a note on their customer’s account. So, everytime you call them about the same issue, you have to start all over again. I still have a pending issue with them that started July 5, 2012. I just hope it won’t take 75 days for it to be resolved.

well i had my worst experience in bdo 7th avenue branch, courtesy of irene perez. i was in their branch by 3pm and i finish my remittance transaction almost 4pm. she asked me if its my 1st time to do remittance transaction, i said ‘in this branch yes, because i always do it in other branch. i just go to their branch because i might not make it before 4pm if i’ll go where i usually do my pick up remittance. so i filled up the papers and gave my id. it took a while and nothing been done, she said override – no more come..override again no one come. (no apology) irene perez said they don’t have much people doing the override. after couple of mins she went inside and go back to her post and waited again for someone to do the override. after the override been done – she went again to photocopy my id (which she could have done when she went inside). i told if she could hurry up because its been more than 30mins. she said di pwedeng madaliin ito. i told her its been too long, thats why im complaining but irene perez doesn’t care. she even did it purposely to slow down. she again called for override and one come. after few mins she said again override thats the only time the guy on the phone (2tables away from her only) come and did the override. all in all it took me 45mins to do my pick up remittance transaction. i never had such experience in their other branches, irene perez is a disgrace to the good image of bdo.

When I have my bad exp with that F%cking bank, I immediately pull out all my savings and investment. Walang ibang alam sabihin kungdi “ayan po kasi ang patakaran ng bangko” just to cover their stupid mistakes!

This is the worst bank in Philippines, good thing umalis na kami diyan and if ever na babalik kami hinding hindi ako magbabangko sa BDO na yan.

    BDO really sucks!

LOL!

unbelievable with comments. Had been a bdo customer for more than 10 years, as an ofw, send my remittances to my account and use my atm when I am home. I also have a checking account. There had been nothing I could complain at. Services is good, they are friendly. My account statement when my bankbook is updated is also OK. This branch is in Baguio City. Not all bdo staffs are disrespectful to be honest.

Wow im glad i found this blog. i have been looking for a site where i can share my experience banking with bdo. Im so fed up after 7 months of waiting for my full payment certificate. Since nasa ibang bansa ako auntie ko ang pinagbayad ko sa credit card with my request letter asking for fulll payment certificacte. take note nagbayad pa ako ng 100 pesos for that certificate.

After 2 months ni ha or ho wala wala dumating na certificate sa bahay. pinag follow up ko ang sister ko sa branch kung saan nagbayad pero sabi lang sa kanya tumawag sa customer service na ginawa naman ng sis ko so she always get the same answer everytime na tatawag sya pinaprocess pa daw until suddenly her last call the stupid call center told my sister na kailangan pa daw na ako ng tumawag para mag follow up?

wow after3 months ng pinaprocess tsaka sasabihin na kelangan pa daw ako makausap bago nila iprocess cos they need some verificattion etc etc,,?huh? at para saan e bayad naman na lahat but anyway maybe they wanted to verify my info or what so i called their customer service which is i t cost me 600 pesos dahil cellphone ang gamit ko for that international call after may verify ang info ko ang nasabi lang ng call center agent is “ichecheck po namin mam” wow after ko gumastos ng 600 pesos sa call na yun na mas mahal pa kesa sa binayad ko sa certificate thats all what i got?

I emailed bdo admin & legal in charge (Molaer & dela serna firm) nagtuturuan na sila kung sino magbibigay ng certificate. ang galing nila maningil pero yung kakapirasong papel to certify na bayad ako aba inabot na ng 7 months wala pa din until now. kung tutuusin tumubo na yung 100 pesos ko na binayad. hiyang hiya naman ako. ang metro bank no hassle after magbayad in just 1 week automatic nila ideliver sa pinto mo ang certificate free of charge. while ang bdo matatapos na ang contract mo sa ibang bansa at atakihin ka sa puso sa galit wala pa rin. I regret na sa BDO ako nag open ng account and when i get back to philippines i will surely pull out my savings there. I am so disspointed.

I hv a problem with my BDO branch here in concepcion marikina. The first certificate issued to me was rejected by the immigration in canada dahil not in complete details. the date that my account was first opened is not indicated on the cert. So, I requested another one, still they refuse to write on the certificate the date dahil yun daw ang standard nila. We are planning to migrate in manitoba, canada, so the immigration there requested us na completuhin ang information ng certificate. Pabalik-balik na kami but until now hindi pa rin sila makapag issue ng ganung certificate. Help me pls…………
